Chen Guo
Polymer/hydrogel Scientist developing novel embolic materials for Interventional Radiology in Dr. Jafar Golzarian's lab
Chen Guo is a highly skilled chemist-engineer who has dedicated over a decade of research experience to the fields of material, chemistry, and biology. With a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University, Chen comes with a wealth of exposure in monomer and polymer chemistry, synthesis, modification, and characterization. Her impressive credentials include extensive research skills across different methodologies, such as biomaterial design, peptide synthesis, living polymerization, and photo-initiated thiol-ene click chemistry.
As a former Researcher 5 at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Delaware, Chen has worked with different research teams to provide practical solutions to various scientific challenges. During her academic and professional career, Chen has honed her laboratory skills in analytical techniques ( NMR, GPC, ESI LC-MS, and Circular Dichroism), purification (HPLC, column chromatography, and polymer fractionation), cell culture and analysis, and safety inspection.
Chen's excellent teamwork and communication skills have enabled her to create fruitful collaborations within multidisciplinary research groups, and her outstanding oral and written English communication skill has been evident in national conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
