Chelsea Kimball is a multifaceted professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a current focus on ocean engineering research.

Education and Current Research

Chelsea Kimball is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). She earned her bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNH as well. Her research focuses on wave-powered upwelling devices, which are intended to enhance kelp growth in aquaculture, potentially making kelp a more viable and sustainable option for biofuel and other applications.1

Professional Experience

Before returning to UNH for her graduate studies, Chelsea worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Teledyne Technologies Incorporated from November 2017 to October 2021. In this role, she applied her mechanical engineering expertise in design and development.34

Contributions and Interests

Chelsea has contributed to various projects, including an underwater ultra-low frequency seismic source, where she was acknowledged for her help in the research published by AIP Publishing.2

Future Goals

After completing her Ph.D., Chelsea hopes to continue working in wave energy research, whether in industry, a national laboratory, or another setting. She is committed to contributing to the development of wave energy devices and promoting a more sustainable energy future.1
