Chayla Cherry

Chayla Cherry is a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University, where she is pursuing a Master's degree in Global Affairs with a focus on advocating for the inclusion of marginalized communities, particularly Black women, in the tech industry on a global scale.

Chayla has a background in Computer Science, having been a Candidate for a Bachelor of Science from Spelman College. She is currently expanding her expertise in cyber security, problem-solving, and technology, aiming to work internationally in the future.

With a passion for tech inclusion and advocacy, Chayla has held various roles including Enterprise Operations and Technology Analyst at Citi, Data Protection Intern at Nationwide, and Career Prep Fellow at Management Leadership for Tomorrow.

Her educational journey includes studying at Tsinghua University for her Master of Arts in Global Affairs, as well as being a participant in programs like the GWU-Spelman College East Asia Professional Development Program at The George Washington University.

Chayla's professional experience also includes roles such as Latitude Fellow at The D. E. Shaw Group, MEISPP Intern at the U.S. Department of Energy, and Junior Photojournalist at The Florida Courier.

She has been involved in various organizations and programs aimed at leadership development, such as being a Citi Campus Ambassador, a Fellow at Rewriting the Code, and a participant in the HBCU Innovation & Leadership Symposium at Citi, among others.
