Chauncey Lane

Chauncey Lane is a partner at Holland & Knight LLP, based in their Dallas office. He specializes in private equity and venture capital, focusing on structuring and negotiating complex transactions for strategic buyers, sellers, and private equity firms, particularly in the technology and financial services sectors. His expertise includes advising on significant transactions such as stock and asset acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and cross-border transactions in regions like Europe and South Asia.12

Before joining Holland & Knight in July 2022, Lane was a partner at Reed Smith. He is recognized as a thought leader in the field, often consulted on evolving deal trends and strategies. Lane also serves as outside general counsel for venture capital funds, guiding them through investment transactions and strategic partnerships.12

In addition to his legal practice, Lane is actively involved in the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, where he contributes as executive editor of Business Law Today. He has a strong educational background, holding an LL.M. in securities and financial regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, and an MBA from Texas Tech University. He also completed his B.S. at Park University while serving in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps.12
