Charles Woodward

International pioneer in Augmented / Mixed Reality, Computer Graphics and 3D CAD.

Charles Woodward is a veteran in the field of developing cutting-edge 3D solutions and innovations for international industrial markets, with expertise in Computer-Aided Industrial Design (CAID), Computer Graphics, Rapid Prototyping, and Augmented Reality. He successfully led a research project at Helsinki University of Technology and went on to establish DeskArtes Ltd., a start-up focused on CAID and RP products, where he served as CEO and CTO. Following this, Charles spent nearly two decades as a research professor and team leader at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd., specializing in developing top-tier AR applications and technology. He later transitioned to work as a Mixed Reality consultant at Unikie Oy. With a significant portfolio, Charles has authored around 50 peer-reviewed research papers, and has been actively involved as a reviewer and program committee member for various journals and conferences, making multiple media appearances in TV, radio, and printed publications.
