Charles Cadell is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in the advertising and communications industry, predominantly in the Asia Pacific region. His career journey began in London, where he spent four impactful years at Leo Burnett. In 1991, he accepted a significant opportunity to relocate to Thailand as part of Leo Burnett, where he oversaw the agency's multinational clientele and initiated the expansion into the IndoChina markets, specifically targeting Vietnam and Cambodia. In 1996, Charles's career path led him to Hong Kong, where he took on the role of General Manager for Leo Burnett's Greater China operations. Following this experience, he transitioned to Malaysia, where he served as the Regional Account Director for Kellogg's. Recognizing his exemplary management capabilities, he was soon promoted to Managing Director, a position he successfully held for five years, significantly enhancing the agency's performance during his tenure.
In late 2005, Charles was appointed President of Arc Worldwide Asia Pacific, a role in which he was tasked with launching a comprehensive global marketing services network that spanned Shopper, Digital, and Activation services across the region for Leo Burnett APAC. After leaving Leo Burnett in 2008, Charles accepted the prestigious role of CEO at Lowe Lintas in Mumbai, India. Here, he made history as the first foreign CEO of an Indian advertising agency, leading a 500-person operation and playing a pivotal role in shaping the agency's strategic direction in the competitive Indian market.
In 2011, he took on a new challenge with IPG, transitioning to McCann WorldGroup as Regional Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Australasia. Just six months later, in January 2012, he was elevated to President of McCann WorldGroup Asia Pacific, overseeing 14 markets and a workforce of over 3,500 staff members. Under his leadership, the agency thrived, and in 2015 he was honored with the prestigious title of Asia Pacific Agency Network Head of the Year by Campaign, recognizing his incredible contributions to the industry.
In June 2016, upon relocating to Tokyo, Japan, Charles further broadened his influence by managing McCann WorldGroup's operations in Japan, demonstrating his adaptability and insight into diverse markets.
