CEO at The Helper Bees - America's Aging-in-Place Platform

Char Hu is the co-founder and CEO of The Helper Bees, a prominent in-home care platform in the United States dedicated to enabling older adults to age in-place with dignity.

His journey towards establishing The Helper Bees was influenced by his grandmother's Alzheimer's diagnosis, which led him to pursue a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics, Computational Biology, and Theoretical Chemistry to study the roots of Alzheimer's and dementia.

With a mission to revolutionize senior care after facing challenges in finding suitable care for his grandmother, Char Hu founded Georgetown Living, a specialized facility catering to Alzheimer's and dementia patients.

Recognizing the need for a comprehensive transformation in senior care, he launched The Helper Bees in 2015, streamlining in-home care by bridging the gap between insurance plans, non-medical care providers, and caregivers to empower older Americans to age in-place while preserving their independence.

The Helper Bees collaborates with major long-term care insurers, top Medicare Advantage plans, and over 20,000 service providers, offering a wide array of services from meal delivery to home repair, simplifying the process for insurers and enhancing care options for seniors.

Char Hu is a sought-after speaker, sharing insights on dementia research, innovative approaches to aging in-place, and policy implications in senior care. Based in Austin, Texas, he actively participates on non-profit boards dedicated to senior care.

Char Hu holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics, Computational Biology, and Theoretical Chemistry from Baylor College of Medicine, along with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
