Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy, located along the IJ-quay in Amsterdam, is the world's first 1-to-5 star hotel, with 117 unique rooms decorated by renowned Dutch and international designers. Hotel The Exchange on the Damrak is a quirky fashion hotel with a similar 1-to-5 star concept. The 61 hotel rooms are decorated by young fashion designers from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. As Marketing & Communications employee I am mainly responsible for contacts with press and influencers. The unique concepts of Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy and Hotel The Exchange make the hotels extremely popular with (inter)national influencers and press. Requests for cooperation come in on a daily basis. It is my task to evaluate these requests and assess whether influencers or press match with our concepts and to which degree a collaboration could be of value for the hotels, and set up collaborations accordingly. Within this process I am the main contact person for press and influencers, from sending a reservation confirmation and a press contract to welcoming them at the hotel. Giving tours around the hotel and assisting with photoshoots or interviews is part of this task. Besides the above I am partly responsible for maintaining the online presence of both hotels. This includes copywriting and text editing for social media and both websites, creating a social media planning and making sure that the content on both websites is representative and up-to-date. Additionally, I perform general tasks such as making reservations and answering e-mails and phone calls, as well as executing supportive tasks for the Banqueting and Food & Beverage departments.In addition to the above, I have conducted a thesis research on the value of influencer marketing for Hotel The Exchange as part of graduation from the Hotel Management course at Saxion Hospitality Business School. With this thesis project I have completed my studies with honors.

As an intern in the marketing & communications department I was responsible for the internal and external communication of both hotels, online and offline. Amongst others, my tasks consisted of maintaining the website and social media of both hotels as well as setting up collaborations with press and influencers. Besides, I was responsible for some general tasks such as making reservations and the phone and e-mail contact with guests.As part of my internship assignment I did research into and developed an advice for an effective Instagram strategy for Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy.

Les Jardins du Marais is a 4-star boutique hotel with 263 rooms located in the heart of Paris. The hotel is part of The Gate Collection and member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. During my Front Office internship at Les Jardins du Marais, I was responsible for doing the day-to-day tasks of a receptionist in order to make guests feel welcome and to ensure a seamless stay. My tasks included greeting and welcoming guests, completing check-in and check-out procedures, cashiering, receiving and handling phone calls and e-mails as well as dealing with enquiries, guest requests and complaints. I was working with Opera PMS and SmartButler. I was also responsible for concierge services such as making restaurant reservations, booking transportation, booking tours, recommending things to do in the area etc. Besides, my responsibilities included tasks like administrative activities, keeping the reception area tidy, refilling stationary, reporting to the shift/reception manager as well as communicating with other departments. At Les Jardins du Marais I learned about the day-to-day work at Front Office. I worked in an international team and had to deal with international guests. I learned to recognize and deal with guests' needs and wishes and to go the extra mile in order to keep guests satisfied.

WestCord Hotel de Veluwe is a 4-star hotel with 97 rooms located in Garderen, The Netherlands. At WestCord Hotel de Veluwe I did a 48-hour Industry Experience in order to gain some experience in the hotel industry. I was working in Front Office, F&B and Housekeeping for a couple of days in order to learn about the basic tasks and responsibilities in these departments.

Located in the city centre of Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, Grieks Restaurant Parthenon is a family-owned restaurant serving traditional Greek dishes. As a waitress at Grieks Restaurant Parthenon, I am responsible for making sure guests are offered all the service they need during their dinner out in order to make sure they have an enjoyable evening. This includes greeting and welcoming guests, escorting them to the table, informing them about the menu and giving recommendations, taking and delivering food and beverage orders, taking payments etc.  Besides the regular table service, I am also responsible for bar service. This includes preparing hot and cold beverages, refilling bar stock, polishing glasses, cleaning bar equipment etc. In addition to the above, standard cleaning activities such as cleaning and laying tables and cleaning kitchen equipment are also part of my responsibilities. Since January 2016 I am co-administrator of the restaurant's Facebook and Eet.nu page, which makes me responsible of posting creative content as well as managing and reacting to guest reviews. At Grieks Restaurant Parthenon, I learned about the ins and outs of F&B operations and learned to be attentive, proactive and responsive towards guests' needs and wishes.

ALDI is an international operating discount-supermarket chain. As a store assistant at ALDI I was responsible of the day-to-day tasks in a supermarket. These included handling the cash register, filling shelves, dealing with customers, keeping the store clean and tidy etc. At ALDI, I learned to work in a busy, customer-oriented environment.
