Erica Ostermann is a highly educated academic advisor and assistant director in Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Office of Student Services. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Bowdoin College in Maine and went on to earn her Master's degree in Education, Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies with a focus on higher education from Stanford University. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Information Science at Cornell University, where her research focuses on how technology impacts the lives of first-year students. Erica has extensive experience working in higher education, having previously worked as an assistant director of residential life at Bowdoin College and as a graduate intern and course assistant at Stanford University. Erica has been an instructor in rock climbing at Cornell Outdoor Education and a facilitator for Cornell's Team and Leadership Center. Erica is a passionate and avid traveler, as evidenced by her cross-country bicycle tours from California to Maine and Seattle to San Diego. Erica enjoys hiking, cycling, and spending time with her partner, son, and dogs in local state parks.
