Beadie Finzi
Beadie Finzi is a highly experienced and accomplished filmmaker and founding director of Doc Society. With over two decades of experience in documentary filmmaking, Finzi has been instrumental in supporting and funding more than 250 independent documentary films from more than 30 countries. Her most notable works include CitizenFour, Pussy Riot, The Square, and Unknown White Male. She has also directed and produced several films, including Only When I Dance, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Apart from her contribution to the world of documentary film, Finzi is an alumni of University of Oxford where she studied PPE. She is highly knowledgeable and has a great passion for nonprofit film foundations, filmmaking, global partnerships, film distribution, and film education. As a founding director of Doc Society (previously known as Britdoc), she has built a stellar record in supporting filmmakers across the globe. Her mission at Doc Society is to befriend independent filmmakers, support them with funding and mentorship, broker new partnerships, develop new business models, and encourage global audiences.
