Pardis Sabeti

Pardis Sabeti is a renowned computational geneticist and professor at Harvard University, with extensive expertise in analyzing genetic signatures of evolution in infectious microbes and their human hosts. Her research is focused on uncovering genetic factors that determine the susceptibility of viral diseases, including Ebola and Lassa hemorrhagic fever. Dr. Sabeti is passionate about developing genomics-based diagnostics and metagenomic sequencing methods to aid in disease control and outbreak response.

She received her M.D. at Harvard Medical School and her D.Phil. in Biological Anthropology at the University of Oxford, where she also pursued an M.Sc. in Human Biology. She earned her B.S. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Sabeti has held numerous positions throughout her career, including Institute Member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Associate Professor at Harvard University. She has also worked at the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics (CCDD) and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
