Xenofon Kontouris is a crypto-economist, entrepreneur, and community leader in the Web3 space with a special focus on Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), and European Crypto-Asset Policy. Kontouris holds an MSc on Digital Currencies from the University of Nicosia and a dual BA on Economics and Political Science from Beloit College in the United States.

Kontouris is a multifaceted professional with extensive expertise in crypto-assets, blockchain technology, DLT, European policy on crypto-assets, DeFi, decentralized governance, and autonomous organizations (DAOs), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), CBDCs, stable coins, play-to-earn, and fractional NFTs.

He is the founder of Athens Labs, a venture studio focusing on crypto-assets' application across several verticals and industry niches, and the AthensDAO. The upcoming complaint investment DAO spawned out of the CryptoPASOK community, which Kontouris founded.

Kontouris is also part of the Executive Team of the International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) as a membership and policy-Finance Working Group member. Within INATBA, he supports the Finance WG on policy outputs and regulator engagements. He is a selected expert on crypto-assets for the European Blockchain Observatory and Forum (EUBOF) and the Digital Euro Association (DEA). He is also a contributor to multiple other projects in the Web3 space.

Kontouris's career spans across the USA, Europe and Asia working as a former Venture Partner at Saxon Advisors, Ambassador at Reserve, Advisor at BITNATION, and Chief Operating Officer at WinWin Solutions, among others. He studied entrepreneurship, small business operations, digital currency, and blockchain, web page design, economics and management, political science, and philosophy.
