I was in the corporate and securities practice group and regularly advised clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, private equity and cross-border transactions and general business matters. My Asia practice experience focused on joint ventures involving Chinese and foreign entities, U.S. securities law compliance issues and international arbitration.  I was co-chair of the Immigration/Violence Against Women Act pro bono practice group in our Philadelphia office and represented clients filing for immigration relief and adjustment of status.

I represented a tenants' association in connection with obtaining financing for the purchase and renovation of a multi-unit apartment building in Washington, D.C.  My representation included guiding the association through the D.C. Tenants' Opportunity to Purchase Act regulatory process; advising about the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program; assisting the association to garner support for the project among potential financing and development partners and D.C. Council members; and providing corporate governance training and assistance.

I assisted in the research and preparation of immigration petitions for female victims of gender-based violence located in the D.C. metro area, including self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act and T-visa petitions for victims of human trafficking.  In addition, I researched and wrote a manual that provides an overview of the law applicable to asylum cases and provides practical guidance for pro bono attorneys representing asylum applicants.
