Martin Obeng is a multi-talented musician and composer with a vast experience in the music industry. He is a skilled percussionist who is passionate about exploring different musical genres and making music that resonates with people from different cultural backgrounds. Obeng has recorded and performed with numerous renowned artists, including Roy Hargrove, Wadada Leo Smith, Bootsy Collins, and Bill Laswell, and has played at various festivals, including the Newport Jazz Festival and the St. Lucia Jazz Festival. In addition to performing, Obeng has also composed music for documentary films, including New England and the Civil War for Connecticut Public Television and Kings Must Dance for The Brooklyn Arts Council. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Haven and the Rochester Institute of Technology and as an ensemble director at Brown University.
