Albert Lie is an accomplished engineer with a wealth of experience in business development, civic technology, and product development across various industries. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and has worked in non-profits, governments, and start-ups. In his most recent role as the Investor in Residence at Insignia Ventures Academy, he is using his experience to give back to the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia by providing mentorship and strategic guidance to early-stage B2B SaaS, FinTech, and API Economy startups.

Albert has worked in ideation, early-stage, series-A, series-B, and unicorn startups, and is well-versed in the nuances of product development, expansion and landing teams, software engineering, and marketing technology. He has worked at companies like Xendit, LayangLayang Mobile, Traveloka, and PT Kudo Teknologi Indonesia. While at Xendit, Albert played a critical role in developing and expanding payment infrastructure, payment data and engineering infrastructure, and SDKs. He also served as a Founding Engineer, Product Manager, and Infrastructure Developer.

Albert is also an Explorer, Independent Consultant, Advisor, and Fractional Engineering Lead at Sabbatical and a former Startup Advisor at Next Billion Advisors. He is passionate about using his expertise in engineering and technology to help businesses scale and grow, and is always on the lookout for exciting new ventures to work with.
