Mark Pearse is an accomplished railway engineer and senior manager with over two decades of experience in the field. He has worked in consultancy and contracting roles in the UK and Australia, managing multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure improvement projects and construction projects. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of railway engineering, with a particular focus on design management and engineering assurance. Pearse completed his studies at the University of Bradford, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.

Currently, Pearse is the Design Area Manager and Engineering Assurance Manager at WSP in Australia & New Zealand, working on a significant project: the Level Crossing Removal Project Caulfield to Dandenong. This $1.6 billion project involves removing nine level crossings and upgrading rail systems on the Pakenham/Cranbourne line. Pearse has also held various positions at Parsons Brinckerhoff, including Engineering Manager, Technical Advisor, and Design Manager.

Pearse's experience includes project and design management, leadership, and extensive knowledge of the interfaces between engineering disciplines. He has a demonstrated history of working on large-scale infrastructure projects and has acted as a contractor's engineering manager for a range of railway projects. As Technical Director of Capacity Enhancements at Hyder Consulting, he was responsible for managing a standalone business unit within a large multinational business.
