Casper Schmidt is a well-known assistant professor in clinical psychology at Aalborg University who holds a PhD in neuroscience from Aarhus University/University of Cambridge. He has conducted extensive research in the fields of self-control and addiction, focusing on neural and behavioral mechanisms underlying impulsive and compulsive disorders in behavioral addictions. A research intern and researcher at the University of Cambridge, he has also worked as a laboratory assistant at Aarhus University and as a research intern in neuropsychology at Aarhus University Hospital. Schmidt has delivered a keynote speech at TEDxAarhus and served as a scientific reviewer for Brain Research. He uses methods of cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, cognitive-behavioral testing and pharmacological modulation to devise new strategies for assessing and treating addiction in the general population.
