Mike Doherty is an accomplished software engineer who has worked in various esteemed organizations, including Google and Pythian. He holds a BCS in Computer Science and a BSc in Psychology from Dalhousie University. Doherty's vast experience encompasses software development, quality assurance, and site reliability engineering, making him an expert in building software systems that work even when their parts don't.
Doherty's passion for excellence has seen him excel in various positions in the tech industry. As a Software Developer, he worked on high-performance computing at Dalhousie University and Pythian, while at Defence Research and Development Canada, he was tasked with software development. Additionally, Doherty has held several roles in water safety, including Waterfront Director at CNIB Lake Joseph, Head Lifeguard at Dartmouth Sportsplex, and Aquatics Director at Centennial Pool.
Currently, Mike Doherty is part of the Frameworks Platform team at Google, where he helps create a standardized production platform. He is responsible for making clients believe that microservices are easy and that computers work.
