As a member of the highly successful UK sales team my role is to drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales cycle for customers across the UK, covering multiple verticals although mostly Enterprise/Finance. Pre-Sales Support. Provide technical advice and support to sales opportunities by engaging with technical contacts within customer, System Integrator and reseller partner organizations. Ensure the Mimecast service is positioned correctly, understood by customers and any technical objections are overcome.

Technical Qualification Consulting. Provide product demonstrations, presentations to senior customer contacts, Proof of Concepts and writing formal RFP response documents. Work with our sales colleagues and by providing input into the qualifications and sales strategies in partnership with sales.

Training and Developing Partners. Ensure Mimecast reseller partners are capable of selling and supporting Mimecast services. Train partners and develop close working relationships with various technical staff in the reseller partner organization.

Design and implement a computer imaging solution to store, manage and effectively deploy multiple computer images across the schools IT infrastructure.

Project Description: We would like a deployment server for Operating Systems and applications. We have the hardware but not the time to design and implement it. Currently the school uses Norton Ghost but it has found that this is not the most effective method of imaging PCs as it has problems sending the Multicasts through the switches. We want this problem resolved and an alternative implemented. Candidates to be tested would be Clonezilla and DRBL

Working solution: Research, plan and design deployment of FOG Image Server (an open source imaging tool) and test, train IT staff how to use the system. Services that were designed and tested were Linux/TFTP/PXE/DHCP/FTP/HTTP. Description of work carried out: Study school network infrastructure. Document and configure core network switches to allow for multicast network traffic. Deploy Linux server into working production environment with no complications or limitations on other IT services. Operate with various versions of Linux kernels and many different client hardware set-ups to work with the image server.

Project Placement Engineer

I worked at Symantec for 13 months as an industrial placement under the role of a Certification engineer. This compromised of testing newly released products, updates and storage devices with the Symantec Enterprise Vault product to certify their compatibility. Throughout my experience at Symantec I learnt many new technologies and working methods. I was given the responsibility to certify the Dell DX Object Storage Platform which was a large project working very closely with the development team at Symantec, Caringo and Dell. Further to that I completed many other certification tasks on Windows 7 and other clients and servers. I also enjoyed working and being part of a unique team in external social events.
