Rick Umoff is an accomplished energy lawyer and government affairs professional based in San Francisco, CA. He has extensive experience working in the solar and clean energy space, and has a proven track record of developing and expanding solar markets throughout the United States.

As the Senior Director and Counsel for California at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Rick advocates for solar energy advancement before various government agencies and the California Legislature. With his skills in advocacy, strategic planning, and consensus-building, he helps solar companies navigate the complex rules and regulations that govern the energy industry.

Rick began his career in tech before studying environmental and business law at the University of San Francisco. Since then, he has worked in-house at various organizations focused on regulatory and corporate matters. In 2013, he joined SEIA as a regulatory attorney and now uses his legal training and energy expertise to develop new commercial opportunities for solar companies.
