Marinus Koekemoer is a skilled data scientist and statistician with years of experience in the marketing research industry. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of South Africa, Marinus kickstarted his career with an internship at Statistics South Africa, where he learned the importance of accurate and timely statistics to support economic growth and democracy.

From there, Marinus rose through the ranks as a statistician at Ask Afrika, where he honed his data processing, analysis, and reporting skills. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was promoted to a senior statistician position before making the shift to Columinate (now InSites Consulting), South Africa's first, leading, and largest modern insights agency. Here, Marinus entered the world of data science and fine-tuned his understanding of automation and data analysis, where he played a pivotal role in developing the FLUENT product suite.

Today, as Lead Data Scientist at InSites Consulting, Marinus is responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions that optimize research studies' accuracy and efficiency. He is a crucial member of the team, bringing an extensive background in R script development and analysis to the table.

When Marinus is not committing acts of data science, he enjoys exploring the culinary arts with his wife in their kitchen.
