Served as the Interim CEO of the Arts Council of Fort Worth.  Responsibilities included supporting the vision and strategic direction for the organization to achieve the agency’s mission, advocacy and fundraising in support of the arts.   Provided day to day management and administrative work in planning, organizing and directing the policies, programs and activities of the agency as well as identified strategic changes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations in the five key programmatic areas:  fundraising; advocacy; grants making; public art and facility management of the 77,000 square foot visual & performing arts space.  Managed a staff of 17 full time employees and is provided leadership and support to the agency's 38-member board of directors.

Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County

Interim President

Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the James L. West Presbyterian Special Care Center's (West Center) fund raising efforts.  Strategic thinker and member of the Center's management team with a special focus on revenue generating programming including the annual fund, planned giving society, grant writing and the Center's $12.4 million capital campaign.  Work closely with the West Center Board of Directors and the West Center Foundation Board of Directors to meet the objectives of the business and strategic fundraising plans.  Represent the West Center in the community to advance the West Center's mission as a knowledgeable representative in the areas of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Create and act upon organization's activities, programs, events, facilities, contacts and relationships for opportunities to market the organization and raise funds through major gifts from individuals;·business and corporate sponsorships; grant proposal development; annual fund campaigns, matching gifts and web-based giving.  Implement and oversee planned giving initiatives and earned income programs.  Foster relationships with targeted individual and institutional donor constituencies in partnership with the President, Board members, and staff.  Collaborate with President and Board to develop a fundraising plan addressing the needs and concerns of each donor segment; engage in and coordinate solicitations with staff, President and members of the Board of Directors.  Oversee special events and manage Development staff. Participate in strategic conversations regarding government funding sources and opportunities; develop strategic programs that advance the mission of the Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County. Developed and implemented three new revenue generating events to expand constituent base and diversify revenue streams.
Identified and funded first corporate satellite gallery partnership to provide a new passive income stream.

ARTS COUNCIL

VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

BISHOP SAM B. HULSEY CHAIR, CONSULTANT AND CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR	           2009 - 2010

Managed department of five advancement professionals representing Development Operations, Annual Fund, Constituent Relations, Marketing/Communications and Major Gifts.  Raised annual giving from approximately $725k each year to more than $2 million per year to support institutional needs against an operating budget of $5 million.  Oversaw Annual Fund campaign that increased by nearly 10% each fiscal year during the campaign.   Managed and directed seminary's $19.5 million capital campaign culminating in gifts received of more than $26 million.  Solicited and planned six seven-figure individual gift solicitations for the campaign resulting in four separate seven-figure gifts.  Directed the planning, direction, coordination, and supervision of all fund raising programs for the seminary yielding an average 5% expansion of the donor base each year. Solicited major and lead-gift donors for projects; implemented donor and cultivation strategies to assist the department, seminary president and the board of trustees.

BRITE DIVINITY SCHOOL

VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT & CAPITAL CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR

Coordinated and managed the Dallas Zoological Society's comprehensive fund raising program including Annual Fund, major and planned gifts, corporate/ foundation grants, Corporate & Foundation Council, Business Forum, Brick Campaign, exhibit sponsorships, capital campaign, and annual Zoo To Do event.  Managed department of five development professionals; served as a member of the Society's management team; assisted with strategic planning for external relations programs and Zoo initiatives. Coached and directed the participation of the Society President, Directors, and other Zoo leadership in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major corporate and individual donors. Identified prospective major donors through contact with Society leadership.  Secured the first seven-figure private gift for zoo expansion.  Participant in planning sessions regarding alternate funding streams and enabling tax legislation.

DALLAS ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY

Maintained $56 million portfolio of business school prospects; established the first decentralized Advancement Office on TCU's campus; facilitated a two-year introduction schedule for the Neeley School's ninth dean.  Identified, cultivated, solicited and stewarded prospects rated in the range of $15,000 - $5,000,000.  Briefed and coached solicitation participants; coordinated solicitation and gift planning strategies for key University leadership and volunteers. Prepared proposals; developed and conducted feasibility study interviews; formatted campaign case statements for university comprehensive campaigns and special projects. Coordinated and executed business school's annual Faculty/Staff Annual Fund campaign.   Served as a liaison to the central development office.

The M.J. Neeley School of Business

Maintained portfolio of 452 assigned prospects and solicitation schedule of at least 180 solicitation and cultivation visits yearly.  Identified, cultivated, solicited and stewarded prospects rated $15,000 to $500,000 along with selected reunion giving/Annual Fund prospects.  Regions
