Looking ahead, Catherine has plans to lead a 10-day program in Germany beginning in 2021, where students will delve into the study of persuasion through the historical lens of Nazi Propaganda. This Embedded Program is intricately connected to her Persuasion class, and it is open to students enrolled in that course, further expanding their educational experience in a practical and exploratory manner.
In addition to her current roles, Catherine has a wealth of administrative experience. From 2011 to 2020, she served as the Academic Advising Director for the Department of Communication, where she meticulously designed, implemented, and evaluated an advising program centered on the academic journeys of hundreds of individual students. Catherine has assessed the diverse needs of students utilizing the advising services and has adapted the program structure to meet those demands effectively. Furthermore, she played an instrumental role in creating an advising training program, improving communication between students and advisors, and establishing a graduate-student advisor intern program in collaboration with the College of Education and Human Development.
Throughout her career, Catherine has managed and guided a team of eight graduate and part-time advisors, highlighting her commitment to fostering an environment of collaboration and support within the department.
