Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Southern Methodist University. She began her career in television at ABC and later worked as an assistant director at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles and as the Literary Manager at the Ojai Playwright's Conference.13
