Cathal Prendeville

Cathal Prendeville is an experienced IT professional with over 15 years in the industry, specializing in hardware/software design and deployment in physical and virtual server/network environments.

He has a broad expertise in Virtualization and Cloud Computing, having worked extensively on products like ESXi, vCenter, vCloud Director, SRM, NSX-V, and NSX-T, designing and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

At Dell EMC, he was a subject matter expert for NSX/Networking, focusing on solutions for running workloads across different regions using CVC NSX and RP4VMs or SRM DR, working on platforms like VxBlock, VxRack Flex/SDDC, and VxRail.

In his current role at Dell EMC, Cathal focuses on transforming datacenters using VxRail HCI platform, specializing in networking, network virtualization, SDDC, and VCF to enable automation, security, and mobility of applications in Hybrid Cloud setups.

He holds various certifications including VMware Certified Implementation Expert 2020 - Network NSX, VMware Certified Advanced Professional in Data Center Design and Administration, VMware Certified Professional in Cloud and Data Center Virtualization, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and VCE Converged Infrastructure Implementation Expert (CIIE). He also possesses a BSc in Electronic Systems with First Class Honours.

Cathal's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Systems from Limerick Institute of Technology, with additional studies in Digital Communication Systems, Microprocessor-based Systems, and a Diploma in Electronic Engineering.

Throughout his career, Cathal has held positions at reputable organizations such as VMware, Dell EMC, SimpliVity Corporation, VCE, and has experience ranging from IT support to solutions engineering and architecture roles.
