Cassandra Costello

Cassandra Costello is the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at the San Francisco Travel Association. In her current role, which she has held since January 2023, she is responsible for managing destination development programs, policies, and visitor experience improvements. She collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Hotel Council of San Francisco and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, to address shared policy priorities and advocate for tourism recovery efforts post-COVID-19, including securing multi-million-dollar grants for the association.1

Her previous roles at the San Francisco Travel Association include positions as Executive Vice President, Public Policy and Executive Programs, and Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Executive Programs, showcasing her extensive experience in public policy and tourism advocacy. Costello also has a background in city government, having served as the Deputy Director of Property for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and as Chief of Staff to city supervisors.1

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis on Journalism from the University of San Francisco, and she has received training in crisis communication and media relations.1
