Carolyn Bivens is a highly accomplished individual with a rich and diverse background that spans across media, sports, non-profit and humanitarian work. She is a trailblazer, innovator and change agent who has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout her 30-year career. She started her career as an Associate Publisher at USA TODAY, and later served as the President and COO at Initiative Media, and the Commissioner of Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), where she worked towards equity for professional women golfers and implemented the first drug-testing program in the US professional golf.
Apart from her professional career, Carolyn is passionate about humanitarian work, and actively participates in charity and giving. For 17 years, she served on the Board of Governors for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, including 2 years as Chair. In 2010, she led an economic development effort in the Amazon Basin of Peru, and documented her experiences in a blog and documentary to fund future efforts. She also launched the Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment (GATE) in 2011, where she served on the Leadership Council.
Carolyn is a graduate of Radford University, where she studied Political Science and Economics, and George Mason University, where she studied Business/Commerce, General. She is also an accomplished writer, photographer, and pet therapy volunteer, who specializes in infusion ward therapy in local hospitals.
