Carolina Palma is an accomplished Legal Advisor with 15 years of experience in International Trade Law, including import/export, compliance, international treaties, bilateral investment treaties, WTO regulation, WTO dispute settlement, and international arbitration. Palma is a highly educated professional with a Master's Degree in Trade Law, LLM in International Law, and currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Trade Law at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland. She is a Certified Lawyer from the Costa Rican Bar and a former Negotiator at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica.
Palma's extensive professional experience includes being a former Trade Consultant at the World Trade Organization, Director of the International Trade and Customs Division at Pacheco Coto, and a former Professor for Trade & Customs Law at Universidad de Costa Rica. Currently, she serves as the Indirect Tax Director, Global Trade & Customs Leader at EY and a former Ambassador for Costa Rica at Seedstars, representing the company in Costa Rica.
Palma's professional and academic interests include International Trade Law, WTO regulation, international arbitration, bilateral investment treaties, and international treaties. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has a good command of German and French (basic) and Chinese.
