Carola Binder
Assistant Professor of Economics at Haverford College
Carola Binder is an accomplished economist and educator with an impressive educational background. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is currently a PhD candidate in Economics at UC Berkeley, where she also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. Carola has a passion for economics and particularly enjoys research in macroeconomics, finance, and economic history. She has been involved in multiple organizations and internships that have honed her skills and expertise in this area, including the Roosevelt Institute, the National Science Foundation, the Center for Advanced Communications Policy, and the Georgia Senate Budget and Evaluation Office. Carola demonstrates exceptional technical skills, including expertise in Latex, Java, MATLAB, Python, Stata, Mathematica, and digital media. Her proficiency in Spanish also expands her potential for collaboration and teaching to Spanish-speaking learners. As an Assistant Professor of Economics at Haverford College, Carola has continued to build on her passion for economics and education while preparing textbooks for students. Carola's interests expand beyond economics, including research in disability and employment issues and tutoring in calculus.
