Carly Markesich

Carly Markesich is the owner and CEO of Discover Gymnastics, a premier gymnastics facility in Houston, Texas.1 She has been working in the gymnastics industry since 1979 as a coach and administrator.1 Markesich earned her B.A. in International Studies at the University of St. Thomas and is a graduate of Rice University's Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives.12

At Discover Gymnastics, Markesich oversees a 22,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that serves over 2,000 students weekly, offering various programs including gymnastics, tumbling, trampoline, and special needs programming.1 The facility also hosts USAG sanctioned gymnastics competitions and a Special Olympics meet annually.1

In addition to her work at Discover Gymnastics, Markesich founded the Discover Fitness Foundation (DFF) in 2010, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides funding for athletic scholarships and matches eligible candidates with qualified gymnastics facilities.1 The DFF currently supports over 200 children in 9 different gymnastics facilities.1

Markesich is known for her approach to employee training and professional development, which has contributed to Discover Gymnastics' success and recognition in the community.1 She is also an activist championing the rights of children, women, and the environment.1
