The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO/OMT) is a specialized agency of the United ‎Nations and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. It serves as a ‎global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how.‎ UNWTO plays a central and decisive role in promoting the development of responsible, ‎sustainable and universally accessible tourism, paying particular attention to the ‎interests of developing countries.‎

I was responsible of formulating the strategic plan for the UNWTO Affiliate Members; Identifying potential Affiliate Members; Establishing and maintaining good relationship and contact with worldwide UNWTO Affiliate Members; Participating in International meetings, conferences and events and give presentations; Identifying potential donor companies for fund raising purpose; participating in relevant conferences and workshops representing UNWTO; managing and coordinating projects with different UNWTO Departments.

My role involved:
- Formulate the development of the UNWTO Themis Foundation strategy and future programme of work.
- Receive, manage and disburse public funds of the UNWTO Themis Foundation; 
- Expand existing resources for the Foundation; 
- Prepare Foundation budget and expenditure; 
- Contact and make a proposal to cooperation agencies for fund raising purpose;
- Maintain the official accounts of the Foundation;
- Prepare together with the accountant periodic statements of budgetary status of the Foundation; 
- Receive auditors and assisting them in the elaboration of their reports; 
- Prepare and present reports on administrative, financial and statutory matters to the Andorran Government and UNWTO; 
- Establish practices consistent with UNWTO policy and practices in order to ensure proper budget, accounting, financial and human resources management and control of the Foundation

My roles were:
- Coordinated the design, implementation and quality control of the Ministry´s new continuing statistical surveys of tourism demand and expenditure (FRONTUR, FAMILITUR, EGATUR);
- Took part in inter-institutional working groups with the Bank of Spain and the National Statistics Institute with the aim to develop new macro-indicators of the tourism sector for the Balance of Payments and the Tourism Satellite Account;
- Prepared analytical reports on the macroeconomic impact of the tourism sector in the Spanish economy;
- Consultant in the framework of the European Commission´s  Medtour program and for UNWTO providing technical assistance to the tourism authorities of the following countries: Egypt, Syria, Lebannon, Russia, Botswana, Hungary and Ecuador.
