Carlos D. Bustamante

Carlos D. Bustamante is a Venezuelan American scientist, investor/operator, and academic with a focus on accelerating genomic discoveries in understudied human populations. He is the founder and CEO of Galatea Bio, utilizing genomics and data science for precision health initiatives. His work targets populations from the Americas, including African and African-American, Hispanic/Latino, and indigenous groups. Bustamante has held leadership roles at Cornell, Stanford, and in the private sector. He has a strong educational background with degrees from Harvard University in Statistics and Biology.
