Carlos Cruz is a dynamic entrepreneur with over 20 years of extensive experience in managing diversified aspects of sales, operations, and data systems in various organizations. His journey in the world of business began while pursuing his degree in Business Administration at ISCTE University, where he nurtured his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his first venture with his sister and brother-in-law. After this early experience, Carlos built upon his passion for business by joining Intel Security, where he dedicated 8 years as a Retail Manager. During his tenure, he achieved remarkable success, contributing significantly to the company’s growth within the EMEA region. Noteworthy accomplishments include the development and implementation of a Distribution Agreement for JP Sa Couto, one of the leading PC vendors in Portugal, and establishing a Partner Agreement with Staples Portugal. His efforts led to exceptional sales performance, catapulting the company into the 2nd and 3rd positions in terms of sales across EMEA in 2011.
In 2014, Carlos was selected to participate in the prestigious MIT Portugal Program - Building Global Innovators, where he worked on a transformative project focused on Big Data, particularly as it relates to public transportation and payment systems. This experience not only expanded his expertise but also deepened his commitment to utilizing data-driven solutions to enhance business operations.
Following his tenure at Intel Security, Carlos co-founded UNICAGE EU in 2016 alongside Nobuaki Tounaka and Daniel Faria. Under his leadership, UNICAGE rapidly made strides in the tech landscape, particularly in banking technology. The innovative work and pioneering projects undertaken by UNICAGE caught the eye of industry leaders, leading to recognition as a finalist for the esteemed Banking Technology Awards in London in 2017, specifically for the MUFG Project in Japan.
