Carlos Aguirre is an accomplished artist and educator with a diverse educational background.
He holds a Master of Arts in Art Graphics from Hunter College, a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from the University of Miami, and a Master of Fine Arts in Art and Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Carlos also earned an A.M. in Art Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.F.A. in Art & Design from the School of Visual Arts.
He has been associated with several prestigious organizations, including Trapecio Galeria, where he currently works as an artist, providing art consulting services.
Among his previous roles, Carlos has worked in cinematography and film production at Mito films, served as a musician and composer at Inca Spirit, and held the position of Professor of Art at the University of Miami, Coral Gables.
He has also contributed his expertise as a Graphics Consultant at El Comercio, an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and as Chair of the Ringling College of Art and Design.
His teaching experience extends to the University of California, California College of the Arts, and Syracuse University, where he served in various capacities such as lecturer, chair, and visiting assistant professor.
Carlos has also showcased his artistic talents as a staff artist at the San Francisco Chronicle, The New York Times, and Village Voice Media, in addition to roles as an illustrator and woodcut artist.
His commitment to education is evident through his tenure as Chair of Illustration at California College of the Arts and Lecturer of Illustration at the School of Visual Arts and the University of the Arts.
