Carles Domenech is an international business development and licensing expert with over 25 years of experience in the pharma and biotech industries. He is a proficient team builder and manager of results-oriented teams. Carles has a Ph.D. in biology and additional business training from ESADE business school. He served as CEO of various biotech start-ups and has expertise in biotech venture capital. Additionally, he has experience in research and development. Currently, he holds the position of Executive Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer at Ability Pharmaceuticals, where he has taken ABTL0812 from academia to starting Phase II trials. Carles has successfully completed significant licensing deals and has a history of acquiring co-development and commercial rights to new drugs. He was formerly the Director, Technology Valorization/Commercialization & VP, Investment/Enterprise Development at ACC10 (CIDEM) & Fundació Catalana Recerca Innovació (Government of Catalonia). He is also a former Interim General Manager at AntibodyBcn and a former member of the Advisory Board at Biocat, BioRegion of Catalonia.
