Carla Hunt
Carla Hunt is a writer, teacher, and people-manager with a passion for communication through writing. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's Degree in Writing Novels from the University of San Francisco. She has also studied at Lake Tahoe Community College and Maumee Valley Country Day School. Carla's vision includes strengthening how we communicate through writing, believing that writing aids human understanding and is a fundamental skill for any career.
Carla has extensive experience in writing and editing, event management, and teaching. She has worked as a writer for The Hobos and Tahoe Mountain News, a Thesis and Document Editor, and Writing Coach at Professional Editing by Carla Orvis Hunt, and a Technical Writer, Graduate Writing Coach, and Instructor at Naval Postgraduate School. She has also taught writing and English at Western Nevada College, Lake Tahoe Community College, and the University of California, Berkeley.
Carla's event management experience includes working as a Maven for various music festivals, including Boutique Box Office Productions, Salmonfest, French Quarter Festival, and the SnowGlobe Music Festival. She has also worked as an Event Manager for Snowshoe Catering and was the Executive Assistant and Publicist for BEW Productions, LLC, and the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
In addition to her writing and event management skills, Carla is a kick-ass project organizer and has the exceptional organizational ability to match.
