Carl Smith

Carl Smith is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in capital markets, investor relations, and business operations. He has over 20 years of experience in senior and executive roles, leading negotiations in acquisitions and public market financing.

Apart from his professional expertise, Carl enjoys various sports activities including soccer, golf, curling, skiing, and racquet sports. He actively volunteers as a coach for his daughters' soccer teams, at the curling club, and at the church. In addition, he has participated in building houses for Habitat for Humanity in Virginia during March Break with one of his daughters.

Carl Smith's educational background includes studying at The Directors College at DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University, obtaining Chartered Accountant certification from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), and completing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Windsor.

Throughout his career, Carl has held significant financial roles such as Chief Financial Officer at Maple, formerly holding the same position at Converge Technology Solutions Corp., Advising Services, Espial, Nuvo Networks, and OZ Optics Ltd. He also served as a Director of Finance at JetForm, Corporate and GST Tax Manager at Ernst and Young, and Senior Accountant at Price Waterhouse.
