Carl Peters

Carl Peters is a seasoned professional with over 14 years of experience in marine research, currently managing research programs and projects at the Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI). With a strong background in analyzing various marine samples and data, he has worked at reputable institutes like the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Australia and MARUM in Germany. Carl's technical expertise includes GC-MS, LC-MS, IC, IRMS, and SEM, with computational skills in R, Python, and ArcGIS/QGIS. He is also pursuing certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), showcasing his proficiency in program/project management, budget management, and risk management. Carl holds a PhD in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Macquarie University, an MSc in Marine Geosciences from the University of Bremen, and a BSc in Geosciences from the same university. Throughout his career, he has held various roles such as Part-Time Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at Saint Mary's University, Research Assistant at CSIRO, MARUM, Alfred Wegener Institute of Polar and Marine Research AWI, and Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP), bringing a wealth of multidisciplinary experience to his current position.
