Carl Kustell is an accomplished attorney and elected official with a strong background in civil litigation, focusing on representing workers and victims of corporate misconduct.
As a consultant, Carl has co-founded and supported politically progressive organizations, such as a progressive radio station, youth groups, and nonprofits advocating for anti-violence and human rights causes.
In 2020, Carl was elected to the Barrington Town Council and currently serves on various commissions including Conservation, Open Space, Budget Forecasting, Planning, and Harbor. Additionally, he holds the position of Vice President at a local housing philanthropy.
Carl brings a wealth of experience in local, state, and federal campaigns, having previously worked as a Democratic Congressional Legislative Aide and Counsel, specializing in environmental, judiciary, and energy matters.
He pursued his legal education at Cornell Law School where he obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Public Law. His academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from the University at Buffalo.
Throughout his career, Carl has worked as an attorney at various firms, including his current position at Freelance and prior roles at Ellis, Kustell & Warren. He also served as a Board Member at Niagara Independent Media.
