Carl Almond is a recognized cybersecurity expert and Senior Director of Asset and Data Protection at Avanade, a consulting company specializing in digital and cloud technologies. With over thirty years of experience in the field, Carl has designed and implemented security strategies for organizations worldwide, including US and foreign governments. He is an inventor of several patents related to internet-connected voting systems' security, authentication, authorization, and auditing. Carl is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and has many other certifications, including global information assurance and cybersecurity certifications. Prior to his current role, Carl has worked for companies such as IBM, Lucent, AT&T, INS, and ThruPoint in various security-related roles.

Carl's practical expertise ranges from logical to physical security threats. He has led several critical programs, including the Client Data Protection program, Avanade Asset Protection, and Business Continuity Program, setting the security standards across the company's practices worldwide. Carl has also acted as the Chief Security Officer for many high-profile global clients. Carl's passion for cybersecurity is evident in his voluntary work offering his computer forensic skills to good causes. In his spare time, Carl is a keen supporter of education and is working towards a Master's degree in Information Technology, concentration in Information Assurance, and Security at American Public University and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology at Capella University.
