Carine Abi Akar
Carine Abi Akar is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in technology, innovation, education, and strategy. She is an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company in Dubai, where she focuses on economic development agendas, investments, and technology. Carine is passionate about leading positive change in communities and finding solutions to various challenges, including refugee education.
Before joining McKinsey, Carine co-managed Edraak, the first non-profit MOOC platform in the Arab region, where she built the team, strategy, and implementation plan for the platform. Carine also designed a progressive charter for a technology-focused private high school and co-chaired the Harvard Arab World Conference.
Carine holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Education in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She is fluent in English and Arabic, with familiarity in French.
