Cara Company

Cara Company, the Administrative Director at Cara Mía Theatre Company, has been an integral part of the non-profit theater organization since its founding in 1996.

Cara Mía Theatre Company's primary mission is to enhance the acknowledgment and appreciation of Chicano and Latino culture through theatrical productions, literary works, and educational initiatives.

Being the pioneering theater group in Dallas focusing on the Mexican-American encounter, Cara Mía addressed a significant gap in the local arts scene back in 1996, ensuring that Mexican-American narratives were prominently featured on stages in Dallas.

Cara Mía Theatre Company has evolved into a crucial cultural institution in Dallas and North Texas, staging original works by renowned Mexican-American authors like Sandra Cisneros, Jimmy Santiago Baca, and Cherrie Morraga.

Additionally, under Cara Company's leadership, the theater company has showcased plays crafted collaboratively by its artistic ensemble and local Dallas writers, garnering high acclaim from media outlets in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Prior to joining Cara Mia Theatre Company, Cara Company enriched young minds as an educator at Big Thought and Dallas ISD, bringing valuable teaching experience to the theatrical realm.
