Kaylan Agarwal is a dedicated and globally-minded individual who is currently pursuing a double major in Applied Diplomacy and Sociology and a Masters of Education in Secondary History Education at DePaul University. Kaylan's mission is to provide underserved students with the resources, knowledge, and tools they need to succeed, making her an empathetic and self-motivated individual with experience in business, tutoring, and project management.
Kaylan has a diverse background, having lived in Curitiba, Brazil, and studied Sociology at Reed College before transferring to DePaul University. During her time at DePaul, she has worked numerous on-campus jobs, including being a Facilities Assistant and Desk Receptionist. Additionally, she has been a Tutor at Prep to Succeed, a Venture Capital Analyst at VU Venture Partners, and a Development Intern at the Obama Foundation. At the Obama Foundation, Kaylan leveraged her VC expertise to assist in fundraising efforts for the $500 million Obama Presidential Center.
Along with her work experience, Kaylan is deeply committed to civic action and volunteering. She currently tutors Chicago Public Schools students aged 8-18 with the DePaul Education and Counseling Center and annually tutors students for the ACT with Prep to Succeed. Kaylan's experience in the field of education and her passion for creating change make her a valuable asset to any ed-tech startup, education-adjacent nonprofit, or educational institution.
