Tess Brustein
Tess Brustein is a highly accomplished educator and entrepreneur, with a diverse background in teaching, community organizing, and product development. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from Barnard College, and a Master of Education in Childhood Education from the Relay Graduate School of Education. Brustein is currently the Director of Core Product at Braven, where she oversees the development of educational resources and tools for college students. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Design at Braven and as an Entrepreneurial Engineer at Camelback Ventures.
Brustein has a strong foundation in education, having served as a 3rd and 2nd-grade teacher at Ascend Learning Charter Schools and as a Corps Member with Teach for America. She is also the Co-Founder and CEO of SmarterCookie, an educational technology startup that provides real-time feedback on student work. In addition to her work in education, Brustein has also held roles as a Community Organizing Intern at Harlem Children's Zone and a Researcher at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum.
