Maria Garcia Smith is a recognized LatinX tech innovator with extensive experience as a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and early-stage startup mentor. She specializes in scouting disruptive innovation in the fields of AI, wearables, biotech, medtech, and genomics. Maria is also passionate about food and STEM initiatives. She has acquired a diverse educational background, having studied at several prestigious institutions such as Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Harvard Business School's Executive Education Program.
Throughout her career, Maria has held prominent roles in various organizations, including co-founder and board advisor at The Happy Beauty Co, director of nutrition innovation at 1health, mentor at Fledge, the conscious company accelerator, and founder & chief innovation officer at AskZabia, which was later acquired by Mynomx Inc. She has also been a senior international consultant at GPS Consulting, quality & security manager at Bellsouth, and general manager at Global Access Systems.
Maria's expertise in digital transformation and information systems has led her to become CIO - Chief Digital Transformation Officer at Interbank and a member of the Advisory Board for the Engineering Business program and professor at Universidad del Pacifico.
