Marielos Alfaro has an impressive background in forestry, environmental management, and international trade. With a Bachelor's degree in Forest Sciences and a Master's degree in Economics and Natural Resource Management from the Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza, as well as a Master's degree in International Trade from the Universidad Nacional, Marielos is well-versed in the intricacies of managing natural resources and promoting sustainable development.

Marielos has held various important positions throughout her career, including serving as a Deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica and as a member of the Board of Directors of several organizations, such as the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), Banco Hipotecario de la Vivienda BANHVI, and the National Forestry Financing Fund (FONAFIFO). Additionally, she has been the Director of the Environmental Sciences School at the National University of Costa Rica, a university professor, a consultant for tropical natural resources companies, and the President of the Costa Rican Forestry Chamber.

Throughout her extensive career, Marielos has gained expertise in several areas, including international trade, forest management, sustainable development, and environmental policy. With her diverse experience, she has developed a great understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with managing natural resources and dealing with environmental policy.
