Kristin Torres is an accomplished podcast producer and researcher with a keen interest in arts, culture, and global politics. As a radio producer, she has worked with NPR in Washington D.C., St. Louis Public Radio, and KBIA in Columbia, Missouri. She has also worked on international assignments and research projects in Russia and Central Asia, which have been recognized with grants from Fulbright, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Education.

Kristin holds a Master's degree in Regional Studies - Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Russian, Central European, East European and Eurasian Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her academic specialization in Russian language, culture, and politics, coupled with years of experience in radio production and research, gives her a unique perspective on the relationship between pop culture, politics, and history.

In 2021, Kristin produced Anything for Selena, a popular podcast series that explores Selena Quintanilla-Pérez’s life and tragic death. She is currently working on new podcast projects with WBUR's podcast unit. Kristin is available for consultation to help with research planning for podcasts or multimedia projects and offer insights into the wild world of music licensing for podcasts.
