Maruf Haider, MD

Maruf Haider is a physician leader with extensive experience in internal medicine and clinical informatics. As a certified physician leader in clinical informatics, Maruf specializes in leading clinicians and healthcare professionals in using technology and automation to enhance patient care across varied settings. He is a skilled problem-solver and facilitator, applying his technical acumen to create enterprise solutions that streamline healthcare delivery, enhance patient care, and reduce costs. Maruf Haider is a collaborative leader with a focus on building a culture of staff empowerment to improve patient care and processes. He is also a skilled communicator transparently communicating organizational priorities and goals.

Maruf Haider studied medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and holds a BS, BA degree from the George Washington University. He is an alumnus of the Watkins Mill High School. Maruf has held several leadership positions in various organizations, including CHIO at Inova Health System, System Senior Medical Director for Clinical Informatics, Medical Director of Clinical Integration, and Physician Informaticist. He has also served as Adult Hospitalist, IT Quality Subcommittee at the Society of Hospital Medicine, Director of Health IT, Chief Resident at the University of Vermont, and Research Fellow at NIH.

Maruf's current focus is developing physician IT leaders and data literacy, improving physician efficiency, and the role of IT in physician burnout. His professional experience, skills, and interests include clinical informatics, internal medicine, physician leadership, healthcare technology, patient care, process improvement, staff empowerment, and clinical integration.
