Emmie Chang is a tech entrepreneur and businesswoman with a passion for education and technology. She studied Electrical Engineering at Rice University and went on to get an MBA at The University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business. She initially started with a summer technology camp for kids, which led to building software used by hundreds of thousands of children in low-income neighborhoods across the US, paid for by the federal government. Recently, she built a Y-Combinator-backed marketplace for kids' activities, which pivoted into Classpass for kids with a focus on technology.
Emmie is currently the founder of Hoo Inc., a platform that aims to improve user engagement through group video chats, real connection, and immersive interactive content experiences while connecting over favorite content. Hoo's starting by developing original content with Tiktok and Youtube creators who have more than 1M followers and working with network TV and streaming platforms to create unique live shoulder content and supplemental shows.
