Laurie Gabriel is a veteran educator and public speaker with 37 years of teaching experience. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree, specializing in cello and voice, from the University of Denver. Throughout her career, she has experienced the changing landscape of public schools, including teacher burnout, decreasing student engagement, and school violence. Laurie believes the key to improving education and overcoming these issues is through meaningful human connection within the school community.
As the Founder of Laurie Gabriel, Public Speaker, Laurie creates opportunities for students and teachers to connect beyond curriculum delivery and assessment. She believes that deeper relationships founded on trust and respect can restore the sense of community and belonging in public schools. Laurie has an extensive background in arts and music, working with peakharmonic youth orchestra and managing the Aspen string quartet.
Beyond her work in education, Laurie has experience in various artistic industries, including singing, voiceover, music production, and acting. Laurie is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of meaningful connections in education and the arts.
